A tradition started many years ago: photograph the day's headlines along with flowers or other things indicative of the season or the day. The significant feature of this photo is that the blooming bloodroots (sanguinaria) are very late. They are one of the first spring flowers to bloom in Wisconsin and they were going strong on May 2nd. The funny thing in the newspaper is that Duke made it above the headline (Jim's least favorite college team). The unusually positive headline for the day gives me hope. In the column on the left you can just make out "Gallery Night." This was the first Gallery Night I could attend because Chiripa is closed and not hosting one. (A future post will feature our destination: Burnies on Park in the building we will always call Chiripa.)
Flowers to brighten the day. Thank you, Jim.
